JAIME CARDEN-O’BRIEN

LPC, EMDR

I have been working in the field of helping people for 22 plus years and am passionate about helping people live their best lives. I have experience working with adults, families, couples and children. I provide both short and long term counseling and work closely with community agencies and human services in the Northern Colorado area. I utilize my training and experience in EMDR to work with children, adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado and hold a master’s degree in Community Counseling with an emphasis in couples and families from the University of Northern Colorado. I have post graduate training in Counselor Education and Supervision with an emphasis in children and adolescents. I also hold two Bachelor’s degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kansas and Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University.

My previous employment includes time spent at Connections in Fort Collins, where as an on-call counseling specialist, I provided brief therapy as well as crisis management. I also worked at Crossroads Safehouse as a staff member and youth advocate. While here, I supervised children’s groups and was responsible for meeting one on one with children staying in the shelter. I helped as part of a team to implement the Teen Dating Violence Institute in area middle and high schools to educate adolescents on dating violence. I also worked with adult individuals at Touchstone Health Partners in Loveland, Colorado.

I live in Fort Collins with my husband and two daughters and enjoy the Colorado life. I am always striving to learn and grow in all my roles and hope I inspire clients to do the same.
